Organizational Growth and Expansion

Since its inception, the International Islamic Youth League (IIYL) & African Youth Development Centre has grown into a dynamic humanitarian organization. Over the past 35 years, it has expanded partnerships across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, focusing on emergency response and post-disaster recovery.

Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Response

IIYL has been at the forefront of disaster relief efforts, providing food, shelter, and healthcare in countries like Mali, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Senegal, Chad, and Cameroon. It raised over $3 million for drought relief in the Horn of Africa and responded to civil conflicts, floods, and cold waves across the Sub-Sahel Region.

Building Resilient Communities Through Sustainable Development and Global Partnerships

Sustainable Development and Refugee Support

Beyond emergency aid, IIYL launched long-term development projects, including shelter programs for refugees in Chad in partnership with major humanitarian agencies such as UNHCR, OIC, WFP, and IDB. It has worked to tackle poverty and provide sustainable solutions for disadvantaged communities.

Advancing Education and Economic Empowerment

IIYL has played a key role in advancing the UN Millennium Development Goals, particularly in education, food security, healthcare, and poverty eradication. The organization emphasizes girl-child education, women’s health, and economic empowerment through microfinance and capacity-building initiatives.

Strengthening Global Partnerships and Community Engagement

IIYL has strengthened its fundraising efforts with partners from the UK, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Canada, and the USA. These collaborations have helped expand relief projects, ensuring greater community engagement and impact.

Digital Transformation for Transparency and Awareness

To increase accessibility and transparency, IIYL has grown its social media presence, allowing for direct engagement with donors, beneficiaries, and the general public. This has helped in mobilizing resources and raising awareness on humanitarian issues.

Organizational Restructuring and Future Vision

With strong governance and dedicated staff and volunteers, IIYL has undergone restructuring to improve efficiency. The organization aims to build stronger humanitarian coalitions, continue disaster mitigation efforts, and enhance interfaith relations while maintaining its commitment to low administrative costs and high-impact aid programs.

Acknowledgment of Contributions and Support

IIYL acknowledges the vital support from government agencies, UN humanitarian bodies, donors, trustees, staff, and volunteers. Their contributions have enabled the organization to serve humanity in times of need and adversity.
